A leading international chemicals company approached us to fill the key position of Communication & Branding Manager for the Central European region. One of the specifics for filling the position was time, but expertise was also important.

Main requirements for candidate

The client was looking for a candidate with at least 5 years of experience in brand management and marketing communications, proven experience in foreign markets, developed management skills, strategic and analytical thinking and English at a communicative level.

Although it was a position in the chemicals and agrochemicals industry, the client preferred candidates from the FMCG sector and marketing agencies.

How was the precise executive search process conducted?

After a thorough consultation with the Head of Marketing Central & Eastern Europe, we developed a comprehensive recruitment strategy with a clear timetable.

Within 2 working days we created a Target Company List (TCL) containing 30 top companies from the FMCG sector and 10 leading marketing agencies. The TCL included detailed information about each company’s specialization and links to websites.

Subsequently, we identified 40 potential candidates matching the profile within 7 working days using advanced headhunter techniques. The process included a detailed analysis of the structure of individual companies, identification of relevant positions and their holders, and a preliminary assessment of candidates’ suitability based on publicly available information.

Following approval of the Long List by the client, we started systematically approaching the candidates, which included initial telephone contact, sending detailed information about the position, structured interviews using competence and behavioural questions, and continuous evaluation and selection of candidates.

On a weekly basis, we provided the client with a detailed overview of the project’s progress, including the number of candidates contacted, market feedback and preliminary evaluation of potential applicants.

Executive Search

2 of the presented candidates advanced to the final round. The selected candidate accepted the offer and joined the company at the predetermined date, fulfilling the client’s request for the position to be filled quickly.

An efficient model for filling even highly specialized positions

This approach to executive search is an effective model for filling highly specialized positions in a competitive environment where traditional recruitment methods often fail. The combination of in-depth market analysis, targeted candidate outreach and rigorous screening enables the challenges of a limited number of suitable candidates and time pressure to be overcome.
